Tanya Proffitt
Pilates, Step, Yoga
As a former competitive triathlete and distance runner, my love of yoga began with a need to bring healing to my body but quickly developed into a love affair for my soul and mind as well.
I have been coaching yoga since 1999 as an instructor as well as an ACE certified Personal Trainer. My favorite formats include Restorative, Power, and Chair Yoga, as well as Pilates, Step, Indoor Cycle, Suspension (aerial) Yoga, and Body Sculpt. I believe passionately in the transformative power of movement, mindfulness, and self-awareness. By combining functional movement, breath work, and meditation to gain self-knowledge, I support each student in creating an environment to deepen their connection to the intuition, strength, and love to be found within. My style of teaching is fun and flowing, and always aims to evenly distribute the physical and subtle energies throughout the body, eliminating mental, physical, and emotional blockages.
My hobbies include traveling, hiking, photography, going to the beach, reading, cooking, being with friends, and getting outside. I live in Maryland with my long-time partner, two children, and three fur-babies.
I can’t wait to see you in class soon!
